This article has virtually nothing about post-Renaissance. All the monumental altarpieces of the counter-reformation, baroque, rococo, classicism, 20th century etc. have not been debated. Some of the many, many, many famous examples are:

This list could be nearly endlessly expanded. Check articles on Baroque churches in Bohemia, Spain, Belgium, Italy, France, Bavaria, Austria, South America. Plenty of good examples to be found there. Important classicist examples like Church of Our Lady, Copenhagen, and later ones require a bit more research.
