Is this man the father of the late Alfred Aeppli from Switzerland who was professor of mathematics at the University of Minnesota? Michael Hardy (talk) 19:21, 7 July 2014 (UTC) Reply
- Good question. Seems likely, but I couldn't find a source to that end. The Minnesota Aeppli's dissertation at the ETH mentions that his father supervised his first mathematical work, but doesn't provide a name or any other facts. Huon (talk) 20:10, 7 July 2014 (UTC) Reply
- The son of the late Alfred Aeppli of Minnesota is Gabriel Aeppli, who is a currently (2025) professor of physics at ETH Zurich. So that would make this Alfred Aeppli the grandfather of Gabriel Aeppli. See obituary [] 144.200.0.154 (talk) 06:54, 26 September 2025 (UTC) Reply
