Talk:Ada County Highway District
It is of interest to the following WikiProjects:
I am new to Wikipedia. I am interested in adding to the Ada County Highway District page. I do work at ACHD. I have waited for others to fix the conflict of interest but it has not occured. Is there anything I can do? PorchSwing (talk) 21:58, 16 February 2009 (UTC) Reply
"This makes Ada County one of the only places in the United States where cities do not control their own streets. This has led to lawsuits and various other political fights over the years as mayors and city councils can not properly respond to their constituents.."
"..commissioners and staff regularly host and attend meetings and public hearings to gather feedback from citizens. This is often ceremonial and very rarely leads to substantive changes to projects and plans that are under consideration by the district."
No sources cited for these claims either. Article should be flagged at the least. I think the article deserves higher importance as ACHD is a large body that represents the most populous county in Idaho, but that's a separate topic.
I'll probably rewrite the article to neutralize it if nobody else gets to it. My bias is that I live and work in this county. LaggyMcStab (talk) 20:40, 13 May 2025 (UTC) Reply
- I went ahead and removed the opinionated paragraphs, keeping relevant facts and information. LaggyMcStab (talk) 04:13, 22 March 2026 (UTC) Reply
