... that the Umayyad prince Abd al-Malik ibn Umar ibn Marwan sealed the submission of western al-Andalus (pictured) to the Emirate of Córdoba? Source: Kennedy, Hugh (1996). Muslim Spain and Portugal: A Political History of al-Andalus, p. 36.(削除) For the "elder" part, Sanjuán, Alejandro García. "Abd al-Malik b. 'Umar b. Marwan". Recent GA, well written and referenced. QPQ done. Image is from the article, and appropriately licensed. Hook is referenced in the article, but the 'elder' part troubles me. Without context or a link, it is unclear what it means. If it is supposed to refer to him being the 'the eldest of the Marwanids in al-Andalus' ('el miembro más antiguo del linaje Marwāní'), then that is not conveyed by the term here. I would strongly recommend replacing it by 'prince' or 'vizier' (although, apart from the lede the article doesn't actually mention him being a vizier, only his descendants).
