Should this fake account be mentioned in the article? It seems like "Foster" has received enough coverage that "she" would be notable enough to mention somewhere on Wikipedia. However, I am not 100% sure if this article is the right place for that or not. The Foster persona was explicitly political and pro-Trump in nature (even including fake photos of "her" posing with the president). However, unlike most of the examples currently on this page, the person behind this account does not appear to be a politician (and "Foster" never claimed to be one either, just an extremely high-profile member of the military). And the motive just appears to have been money. So it is political, but I suppose the question is whether it’s political _enough_ for this article. FYI, there was previously a section about "Foster" in the article but it was reverted by someone using an automated rollback tool. ~2026-18528-43 (talk) 07:15, 25 March 2026 (UTC) Reply

COI edit request: the article carries no measurement of AI-generated content prevalence

This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.

I have a conflict of interest here and am requesting rather than making this edit.

The issue: In § Foreign interference the article states The use of artificial intelligence was described as an accelerant rather than a revolutionary change to influence efforts. The source attached is a Washington Post news report of what officials said, and the sentence before it is an NPR report of the same briefing. That is a characterisation by officials, not a measurement, and the article passes it through without one. Across the whole page there is no figure for how much AI-generated political content actually circulated during the 2024 cycle, on any platform, from any study. An article about AI-generated content in American politics currently contains no measurement of its prevalence.

Proposed change: Add one sentence with a measured estimate. It reports general prevalence of AI-generated political images rather than foreign campaigns specifically, so § Foreign interference may not be the right home for it; I am suggesting it go at the end of that section's paragraph, after the sentence ending "...for most of the 2024 United States general election season.", but an editor who prefers to place it in a general or prevalence section should do so.
