Picture
[edit ]I have a picture of the auditorium during the tournament, if anyone think it might be useful to include in the article. I took it during the interval of the second semifinal between Stephen Maguire and Mark Allen when the score was 4-0. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 16:48, 9 December 2019 (UTC) [reply ]
- Good work. I'll likely do a write up similar to last year's event soon, and I'll put it in. Do you go to lots of events? We are always in need of more images. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:56, 9 December 2019 (UTC) [reply ]

Lead
[edit ]- "was a professional snooker tournament that took place from 26 November to 8 December 2019." - please include the location and the venue where the tournament took place

- "had won the previous two championships, defeating Shaun Murphy 10–5 in the 2017 final, and Mark Allen 10–6 in the 2018 final." - this is not mentioned in the prose. I think it should be and it should also be verified by a reliable source which explicitly states this information

- "It was the first maximum break to be made at the UK Championship since 2016, and the third of Hawkins' career." - this needs to be included in the main prose since it is only mentioned in the lead

Overview
[edit ]- Think some mention of the broadcasting coverage the tournament received should be included here

Summary
[edit ]- "with matches not televised." - this portion of information is not mentioned in the Sporting Life source. Another source is needed to accompany it

- "Murphy had lead the match 3–1," - typo; should be led
- Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs)
- The second BBC Sport attached to the sentence "Gilbert commented after the match that there were "no positives" from the match, and he wanted to "smash up [his] cue"." makes no mention of it. It can also be used to expand some coverage of the early rounds with fascinating and relevant material

- BBC Sport and footage I've seen state Hawkins' 147 was made in the fourth frame not the third

- "World number 9 Kyren Wilson was defeated by world number 56 Marco Fu on a deciding frame 5–6." - not mentioned by Reference 14 so a new source is needed to verify this piece of text

- "including a break of 114" - BBC Sport does not state Bond made a break of 114 en route to beating Judd Trump. Another source is needed for this fact

- "Stephen Maguire had won the event previously in 2004 and reached the final again in 2007 UK Championship," - just 2007 will suffice here

- "break of his own to lead 9-6" - another en dash is needed

Final frame score
[edit ]There's some confusion about the final frame of the final. We have 114(114)-8 for the final frame, although officially it seems to be 103(103)-8 (eg http://www.snooker.org/res/index.asp?event=857, excludes the last blue and pink for some unknown reason) and we have the 103 in Ding's list of centuries, rather than 114. Mildly confusing. Nigej (talk) 11:45, 12 December 2020 (UTC) [reply ]
- This BBC report says "103 to win the match", but this video proves that he potted the blue and pink and finished up on 114. Maybe the last two pots were considered irrelevant because he'd already won the match and made a century (to add to his career centuries count), regardless of the final break. Which I think is downright wrong! I vote that we stick with 114, but sourcing it might be a problem. Rodney Baggins (talk) 13:19, 12 December 2020 (UTC) [reply ]
