Tony Benn
[edit ]The prior rank for Tony Benn is a ?, which would suggest his result in 1979 was unknown. However it is fairly well documented that he did not stand in the 1979 Labour Party Shadow Cabinet election (as is mentioned in that article) opting to return to the backbenches for a period after Labour had lost power.
