[edit ]this reader found this interesting, as there is a big band-era song on one of my Christmas playlists where Bing Crosby talks about "gang singing." I had never heard that word used in that way elsewhere. Seeing it here, I wonder if it was something that der Bingle thought up or if it was more common at that time.
