As per https://www.dot.asia/asia-top-level-domain-introduces-simplified-registration-process-registrants-outside-of-the-region-benefit/ , you do not require the local residency/presence. I updated the article that way. MiroslavGlavic (talk) 00:37, 17 August 2022 (UTC) Reply

This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.

I shouldn't perform the edit myself for various reasons, but I stumbled upon "dotasia-complot.org" and find it quite unsuitable especially for BLP claims as a self-published source.
