Storhamar Håndball Elite is the professional women's handball team of the Norwegian multi-sports club Storhamar IL based in Hamar. The team plays in REMA 1000-ligaen, the top division in the country, since its promotion in 2016.[1]

History

Storhamar IL was founded in 1935 as Storhamar AIL, a workers' sports club which was a member of Arbeidernes Idrettsforbund.[2]

In 2015 the team was relegated to the 1st Division due to bad economy, but the year after they were promoted again.[3] [4] [1]

They competed in the 2022–23 Women's EHF Champions League, for the first time.[5] In 2023-24 they became the first Norwegian club to win the EHF European League.[6] In the 2024-25 season the club won their first ever Norwegian championship, and did so undefeated.[7] The same season they actually won "the treble", meaning the series, the cup and the playoffs.
