Earliest groups of Sindhis came to the island of Ceylon which is the now modern day country of Sri Lanka estimated two centuries ago in hopes for business and trade.[3] and they came via migration from Hyderabad city of Sindh.[4] and most were Hindus that came to Sri Lanka due to business.[5] [6] However, after partition this trend increased as Sindhi Hindus left their home province.[7] and they are concentrated around Colombo.[8]
Families of Sindhi descent often remember their culture through cuisine.[9]
