Shyampur (Bengali: শ্যামপুর) is a Thana of Dhaka Metropolitan Police in Bangladesh.
Geography
[edit ]Shyampur is bounded by Jatrabari Thana on the north, Kadamtali Thana and Keraniganj Upazila on the south, Kadamtali Thana on the east and Gendaria Thana and Keraniganj Upazila on the west. Its total area is 2.31 km2.[4]
Demographics
[edit ]According to the 2011 Census of Bangladesh, Shyampur Thana has a population of 184,062 with average household size of 4.3 members, and an average literacy rate of 65.4% compared to the national average of 51.8%.[5]
