SEEQC (pronounced "seek"[1] ) is an American quantum computing company developing digital quantum computing systems based on superconducting integrated circuits[2] [3] . The company specializes in combining quantum processors with cryogenic digital control electronics. Headquartered in Westchester New York[4] , SEEQC has partnered with NVIDIA [5] , IBM [6] , Booz Allen Ventures[7] , and the United Kingdom's Quantum Computing Centre[8] .
History
[edit ]SEEQC was established in 2018 as a spinout from Hypres[9] [10] , a superconducting electronics company known for developing rapid single flux quantum (RSFQ) digital circuits and superconducting integrated circuit fabrication technologies[11] .
SEEQC was founded by John Levy and Oleg Mukhanov to commercialize a new architecture integrating superconducting digital electronics directly with quantum processors[12] . Unlike conventional quantum computing systems that rely heavily on room-temperature electronics connected through extensive cables[13] , SEEQC's approach moves portions of the control stack into cryogenic environments alongside quantum processors[14] [15] [16] .
The company has raised venture financing from investors including Merck's corporate venture arm, M Ventures[17] [18] , along with other institutional investors[19] .
Technology
[edit ]A distinguishing feature of SEEQC's architecture involves Single Flux Quantum (SFQ) digital logic that operates at cryogenic temperatures. [20] [21]
In March 2026, Nature Electronics validated SEEQC's research by publishing a peer-reviewed demonstration of an integrated quantum processor unit combining superconducting qubits with Single Flux Quantum (SFQ) digital control electronics on the same millikelvin stage[22] . The study demonstrated single-qubit gate fidelities exceeding 99%, with results reaching 99%, while using digital multiplexing to reduce the number of control lines required as quantum computers scale[23] .
"Imagine for a moment we were 10 or 15 years ago with GPUs, and somebody asked the question, 'What's the energy requirement going to be to run a scaled, GPU-based data center?' What's that going to look like, and is that an issue?" SEEQC CEO John Levy told The Washington Post[24] . "That's why SEEQC is scalable, energy-efficient quantum computing. Now we're at a point where energy, for the first time, is gaining computing power. And we're seeing that play out dramatically. Look at all the power infrastructure and the data center infrastructure that's needed to make AI work at scale right now."
