Phir Ussi Mod Par (English: "Back to Square One") is a 2019 Hindi drama film directed by Lekh Tandon.[1] [2]
The film addresses the practice of triple talaq, a tradition in Islam where a husband can legally divorce his wife by pronouncing three repudiations at once. It highlights the consequences of this practice.
Phir Ussi Mod Par premiered at the Berlin Film Festival on March 8, 2019,[3] and was received well. It was produced by Trinetra, Kanika, and Anshula Bajpai under their banner, Kanika Multiscope (KMPL).
Plot
[edit ]In the film, Naaz is pregnant when her husband, Shaheed, uses triple talaq to divorce her. Following this, Naaz attempts suicide, but is rescued by Rasheed, a man described as righteous. He marries her, offering her a new beginning. Later, when Naaz encounters another triple talaq situation, she decides to confront it and stand up for her rights.
