ESO 420-G 013 is a spiral galaxy located 50 million light years away in the constellation Sculptor. It is classified to be a Seyfert galaxy and is often nicknamed the Baseball Galaxy.[3] [4] The redshift of this galaxy is (Z) 0.012080.[2]
The galaxy contains a luminous purple core, which outshines the nearly round disk and dust filaments surrounding it. The object was captured by the Hubble Space Telescope as part of a study targeting luminous infrared galaxies (LIRGs).[5] [4]
