John Henry Vandenberg (December 18, 1904 - June 3, 1992) was the ninth Presiding Bishop and later Assistant to the Council of the Twelve of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).

John H. Vandenberg was born December 18, 1904 in Ogden, Utah to Dirk and Maria Alkema Vandenberg, both Dutch immigrants.[1] He served a mission to the Netherlands from February 1926 to July 1928. He met his future wife, Ariena Stok, while on his mission and she later immigrated to Utah and they married June 18, 1930. [2]

John H. Vandenberg was called as the ninth Presiding Bishop on September 30, 1961. He was later called as Assistant to the Twelve on April 6, 1972. When the calling of Assistant was eliminated, he was called to the First Quorum of the Seventy October 1, 1976. He became an emeritus general authority September 30, 1978.[3]

Elder Vandenberg died June 3, 1992 of natural causes at age 87.[4]
