Brooke Alice Williams-Owen born 20th May 2009[1] in Pontefract, England is a professional footballer who plays as a Goalkeeper for Sheffield United Women and the Gibraltar Women's National Team.[2] She is a youth product from the England FA Future Lionesses High Performance Pathway which she joined aged 12 years old.

Williams-Owen is a multi national association qualifying player her eligibility to represent Gibraltar comes through her father, she is also eligible to represent England through her birth place and Mother's family heritage (evidenced by her previous involvement in the English FA Future Lionesses Pathway) and is also believed to be eligible to represent Wales through her Paternal Grandmother.

Early years

Williams-Owen joined Sheffield United Women from York City Ladies Academy in the summer of 2025 after completing a successful trial period signing a two year agreement through to summer of 2027 in the clubs U21 squad.[3]

International career

Williams-Owen became the youngest capped female goalkeeper in European football history and Gibraltar's youngest capped player of the UEFA era across men's and women's football when she made her international debut for Gibraltar on 23rd October 2024 at just 15 years and 157 days old. She went on to play both games in that international window both games UEFA friendlies played at home at the Europa Point Stadium against Andorra.[4]

She was part of the inaugural Women's Nations League squad in 2025 but did not feature in the starting 11 in those games only a place on the bench but did make 2 further starts again against previous opponents Andorra away this time in October 2025 in a close fought 2-0 defeat in which Gibraltar held the hosts at 0-0 until the 88th minute and a later 3-1 defeat in what was new head coach Stella Gotal's first official fixtures after taking over from Scott Wiseman.[5] Williams-Owen season was interrupted shortly after these games by injury.

This saw her miss the first international window of the inaugural FIFA Women's World Cup Qualifications in March 2026, she did however return in the 2nd set of qualifiers for her competitive and FIFA World Cup debut in what was her 5th senior cap at the Europa Point Stadium on Tuesday 14th April 2026 in a very respectable 1-0 defeat against group favourites Croatia.[6] a tougher more humbling result in the reverse fixture in Split saw Gibraltar fall to a heavy 9-0 defeat in what was a tough education of what is required to manage a two game international window against very experienced opposition.
