BillingPlatform is an enterprise software company headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, that provides a cloud-based monetization platform.[1] Its platform enables businesses to automate billing, invoicing, revenue recognition, and payment workflows across pricing models that include subscriptions, usage-based billing, AI monetization models, and hybrid arrangements. [2]

The company was founded in 2012 by Leonid Solomonik and Nathan Shinn and operated as a self-funded startup before raising external funding in 2017.[1] As of January 2024, it has raised a total of 104ドル million from Columbia Capital and FTV Capital.[3]

History and Founding

BillingPlatform was founded in 2012 by Leonid Solomonik and Nathan Shinn in Englewood, Colorado.[1] Shinn serves as chief strategy officer and has more than 20 years of experience in high-volume enterprise information systems; Solomonik serves as chief technology officer, with more than 20 years of software industry experience, including extensive experience in high-capacity billing information systems.[4]

The company grew organically for several years before seeking external funding, expanding its client base primarily through direct sales and word-of-mouth referrals.[1]

In January 2026, Chris Bishop was named Chief Executive Officer, with Dennis Wall remaining on the company's board of directors.[5]

Funding

In August 2017, BillingPlatform announced a 4ドル million Series A round led by Columbia Capital and Dennis Wall was named CEO.[6] Wall had previously co-founded Cloud Sherpas, a cloud advisory firm acquired by Accenture in 2015.[4]

In December 2019, BillingPlatform raised a 10ドル million Series B round from Columbia Capital.[7] BillingPlatform announced a 90ドル million growth equity investment from FTV Capital, in January 2024. [8] FTV Capital joined Columbia Capital as a minority institutional investor, and FTV Capital partners Kyle Griswold and Richard Liu joined the company's board of directors.[9] [10] [11]

Platform BillingPlatform provides a cloud-based platform built on a metadata-driven architecture, which allows enterprises to configure billing logic through declarative settings rather than custom code.[1] The platform covers the order-to-cash process, including product catalog management, order intake, billing, invoicing, revenue recognition, payment processing, and collections.[3]

The platform supports multiple billing models including one-time charges, subscriptions, usage-based pricing, tiered pricing, and combinations of these.[3] It integrates with payment gateway providers and enterprise systems such as ERP and CRM platforms, and supports data ingestion for usage-based monetization.[12]

In April 2026, BillingPlatform launched RevVenue, an expert-led resource hub designed to help finance teams manage growing revenue recognition complexity.[13]

Customers Notable customers include Carrier, DIRECTV, Instacart, J.P. Morgan and Panera.[14] The company serves customers across multiple industries, including software, finance, media, transportation, and communications, and processes billions of transactions and dollars annually.[15]

In November 2023, BillingPlatform announced a strategic partnership with J.P. Morgan Payments to support billing needs across J.P. Morgan's Treasury Services and Trade Finance businesses, as part of J.P. Morgan's broader billing and pricing transformation.[16]
