Bromonordiazepam, also known as Desalkylgidazepam, is a benzodiazepine derivative[1] which has been sold as a designer drug.[2] [3] It is structurally similar to diazepam, and its analogue nordazepam, but exchanges a chloro group at position 7 for a bromine substitution. It is the active metabolite of gidazepam,[4] but has appeared in the illicit drug market alone.[2] [5] [3] Its in-vitro potency is similar that of alprazolam,[6] while subjective effects are not yet reported.
