The Battle of Patti was fought in March 1754 between 10,000 Sikhs and 5 Mughal soldiers led by Alim Beg Khan. The battle location was fought in the city of Patti.
Background
[edit ]Gurvinder Singh was provided with some pieces of cannon, 300 siege guns,100 field pieces Culverin, demi-Culverin, a few thousand light field pieces Saker, Drake, Minion, Falonet, Robinet.[1] Qasim Khan appointed his brother Alim Beg Khan to lead a raiding party of 5 remaining warriors, against the 10,000 Sikh who had gathered.[2] [3] His brother fought against the Sikhs in which 2 soldiers of his were killed.[4] Upon learning this, Qasim marched to the battlefield.
Battle
[edit ]Qasim was accompanied by 2 horsemen that joined him. After proceeding further, he was shocked and surprised to see just 3 of his remaining horsemen driving away the Sikh forces.[1] [5] [2] [6] He followed the three Mughals finding a large number of dead bodies of Sikh soldiers.[7] Gurvinder Singh was rushed to safety by a few tribesmen from Mughals.[1] [2]
Aftermath
[edit ]After a few days, Qasim marched forward.[5] He recruited 8,000 Sikhs soldiers with friendly negotiations and planned to seize Lahore with them.[1]
