Amaqua Township is one of seventeen townships in Boone County, Iowa, United States. As of the 2000 census, its population was 283.

History

Amaqua Township was established in 1871.[3] Amaqua is an Indian name meaning "beaver".[4]

Geography

Amaqua Township covers an area of 36.76 square miles (95.2 km2) and contains one incorporated settlement, Beaver. According to the USGS, it contains four cemeteries: Beaver, Grand Ridge, Maas and Maple Grove.
