Aledo (/əˈliːdoʊ/ ə-LEE-doh) is a city in Parker County, Texas, United States.[2] The population was 4,858 in 2020.[4]
The city is served by the Aledo Independent School District.
History
[edit ]The Parker post office was established in 1880 by Littleberry Rudolph Fawks. Two years later, the name was changed to Aledo, likely suggested by a Texas & Pacific Railway official from Aledo, Illinois.[citation needed ] A post office was established May 25, 1882 as Aledo, under postmaster Eli J. McConnell.[citation needed ]

[edit ]According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.9 km2), all land.[1]
