Adria (region)

Region of southeastern Europe
Not to be confused with Aria (region).
Adria or Eastern Adria is a region in Europe.
Ethymology
[edit ]The name is derived from the Adriatic Sea, which is to the west of the region. The term is meant to replace the more geo-political term Western Balkans and the historical term Ex-Yugoslavia.[1]
Location
[edit ]The region is located on the western coast of the Balkans, east of the Adriatic Sea and emcompasses Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia.[2] [3] [4] [5]
In Culture
[edit ]The name is mostly used in television programming, such as X Factor Adria, or in bussiness, such as TV channels Adria TV or MTV Adria, or service provider Adria Telekom.
