1912 (MCMXII) was a leap year starting on Monday of the Gregorian calendarand a leap year starting on Sunday of the Julian calendar, the 1912th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 912th year of the 2ndmillennium, the 12th year of the 20thcentury, and the 3rd year of the 1910s decade. As of the start of 1912, the Gregorian calendar was 13days ahead of the Julian calendar, which remained in localized use until 1923.

This year is notable for the sinking of the Titanic, which occurred on April 15 and the outbreak of the First Balkan War in October.

In Albania, this leap year runs with only 353 days as the country achieved switching from the Julian to Gregorian Calendar by skipping 13 days. Friday, 30 November (Julian Calendar) immediately turned Saturday, 14 December 1912 (in the Gregorian Calendar).
