History

[edit ]

The area became part of the emerging Polish state under its first ruler Mieszko I around 967,[2] and following Poland's fragmentation it formed part of the Duchy of Pomerania. From 1701 it formed part of the Kingdom of Prussia, and from 1871 to 1945 it was also part of Germany. Two Polish citizens were murdered by Nazi Germany in the village during World War II.[3]
