Template documentation[view] [edit] [history] [purge]

This template is used to mark an entire article, or a section of an article, as having many dead external links. It may be placed at the top of an article, if the article's sourcing problems are severe, or at the top of the "References" section of the article if minor cleanup in this regard is needed. In a long article, it can also be placed at the top of a prose section or passage in need of such cleanup, when the rest of the article is otherwise unaffected. If an article contains only a few dead links, then it is better to mark the individual links with {{Dead link }}.

This template will categorize tagged articles into Category:Articles with broken or outdated citations or a dated subcategory thereof.

Usage

The simplest way to add this template to an article is to copy and paste {{Citations broken|section|date=February 2025}} at the top of the reference section in an article.
