The latitude longitude coordinates 8.10° N 77.14° E for Colachel is out in the ocean, 13 kilometers from land. I'm guessing this is incorrect.

I changed this to about where the marker was on Google Maps, it may not be perfect, but it's better. gren グレン 05:20, 14 April 2007 (UTC) [reply ]

About the Folk Arts section

I am not sure why the Folk arts section appears for this article. It looks like someone has copied this section from somewhere and pasted in the pages of the villages of Kanyakumari district. The same content is available at the pages of Kanyakumari district, Kuzhithurai and Colachel word by word. I believe it appeared once in the page for Nagercoil also.

Being born and brought up in this town (Colachel), I am not aware of any local person doing these folk arts mentioned in the said section. Usually for temple festivals, they bring folk artists from other districts. This is the biggest section in this article about this town and it seems as though Colachel is widely famous for the folk arts (or artists) compared to everything else. Is it not like giving a false face to this town ?

I request that the folk arts section be removed or modified to reflect its true relation to the residents of this village unless the person who did this copy and paste stuff comes forward to give appropriate reasons for his actions.
