American may refer to something of, from, pertaining to, or related to The Americas , which depending of who you ask, is either a sole continent or a landmass comprising two continents: North America and South America.

However, since the English colonies have completely monopolised the term, it might as well refer to the United States, which is only about a cuarter of the entire mass of The Americas. Thus, it might as well refer to:
