Element (formerly known as Vector and Riot) is a cross-platform Matrix client built using the Matrix React SDK. It provides a clean, modern interface for connecting to the Matrix network with the following features:

Web Client

We host a version of the Element web client that you can access at chat.opensuse.org using your favorite web broswer.

Desktop Installation

You may install Element via Zypper:

user $ sudo zypper install element-desktop

Or with Flatpak via FlatHub:

flatpak install flathub im.riot.Riot
