This document describes the Oracle Solaris Image Packaging System (IPS) feature. IPS tools enable you to install, upgrade, and remove software packages for the Oracle Solaris operating system. IPS also enables you to create your own software packages, create and manage package repositories, and mirror existing package repositories.
