"Vows" is the twenty-first episode of Gargoyles , and the sixteenth single-part episode of the series. It aired on September 14, 1995.
Plot[ ]
During Xanatos and Fox's wedding, Goliath who was asked to be the best man is attacked by Demona wielding another magical artifact; the Phoenix Gate, which she uses to send herself, Goliath, Xanatos, Fox and Xanatos' father Petros back in time to Castle Wyvern, where Demona hopes to convince her younger self to betray her mate Goliath and change the future.
Trivia[ ]
- Xanatos proves himself a self-made billionaire. Using his illuminati membership and time travel, he was able to send a coin from the 10th century to himself in the 20th with a secondary letter telling him how to set up the events, creating a time loop.
- When this episode originally aired, an error was made in showing the last scene of Demona and Goliath embracing at the Clock Tower, something they had never done. This was fixed in later airings, including the since-pulled YouTube upload of the episode, to show them embracing at Castle Wyvern. However, the original ending was used on the DVD release as well as on Disney+.
