Tema (Hebrew: תימא, Tẹmāʻ; "Name means::desert") was the ninth of the twelve sons of son of::Ishmael, first mentioned listed in Genesis 25:15.

Descendants

Tema settled at Taima or Tayma (تيماء), an oasis city which is located in northeastern Saudi Arabia. Nabonidus, king of Babylon from 556-539 BC, passed his years of exile in this city, which he also knew as Tema'. The city of Tema, with those of Dedan and Dumah formed stages in the caravan route from Babylon down to Sheba. Perhaps other descendants of his settled in Yemen.
