The Pathrusim (Hebrew: פתרסים, Pathrūsīm) are the descendants of Pathrus (Hebrew: פתרוס, Pathrōs; "Name means::region of the south") the fifth son of son of::Mizraim, according to Genesis 10:14 .

Descendants

Y-Chromosomal Haplogroup E-V68. The Pathrusim gave their name to Upper or Central Egypt and perhaps also Petra. "Pathros", p't'-rs(y) means "southland" in Egyptian, being the territory between Cairo and the Aswan, or central Egypt. The Assyrians called the area Paturisi. Caphtor, progenitor of the Caphtorim was an adopted son of Petrus.
