Celebrating Trans Day of Visibility 2025
- "We have to do it because we can no longer stay invisible. We have to be visible. We should not be ashamed of who we are. We have to show the world that we are numerous. There are many of us out there." - Sylvia Rivera
- Sylvia Rivera was a transgender rights activist who was also a noted community worker in New York.

Happy Trans Day of Visibility, everyone!
March 31st is Transgender Day of Visibility, or TDOV for short. Let's recognize the contributions and celebrate the lives of trans people around the world. Trans people have always existed and come from places all over the world. They are of every race and color, every religion and nationality. We all have loved ones in our lives that are special to us. Regardless of who we are, we are all ...

Off-Platform with Fandom: 20th Anniversary Roundtable (Transformers, South Park, Pro Wrestling & Dragon Ball)
Welcome to "Off-Platform with Fandom", a segment where users on the Fandom platform come together to have a conversation off the platform. I’m Miller, a Community Manager for Entertainment with Fandom and we’re here on Community Central, the central community hub of the Fandom platform to bring you an off-platform conversation.
Question, have you ever been a fan of something to the point that you decide to research all you can about what you’re fanboying over? It can lead you down a rabbit hole to experience and explore all that you wanted to know about your fandom... all of it... from the good, the bad, and the sometimes ugly truths that might crush our childhood spirits. You understand what I mean, right?
In this blog, you’re going to meet four am...

My Farewell to Fandom
One of my all-time favorite episodes of television is "All Good Things...," the series finale of Star Trek: The Next Generation. It reflected the idea that all good things must come to an end, wrapped up an incredible chapter of storytelling in a neat bow, and left room for bigger and better adventures yet to come.
In that spirit, I have some news to share with the community: tomorrow, February 28th, will be my last day as a member of Fandom Staff. I’ve worked at Fandom for 15 years, and as Fandom seeks to chart a new course to boldly go where no one has gone before (note my continued love for a good Star Trek reference) in how it supports communities, it’s time for me to head off on a new adventure of my own.
As I look back on my experiences, ...
Fandom’s Second Annual Transparency Report Is Here
We’re excited to share Fandom’s second annual Transparency Report, covering our Trust & Safety actions for the 2024 calendar year. This report includes data you don’t typically see - from the number of JavaScript submissions we reject to the number of wikis we close. It also covers moderation for user-generated content not just on Fandom wikis and Discussions, but across Fandom Brands, including GameFAQs, GameSpot, Giant Bomb, and Comic Vine.
A transparency report is a way for companies to share important information about the actions they take to keep their platforms safe. The details vary depending on the company, but these reports often include things like how much content was removed (or in our case, wikis), which policies were enforced...

Technical Updates: February 7, 2025
Hello, hello, hello, lovelies! This is the first of two tech blogs I will be posting in February. This is the place for you to be updated on a selection of bug fixes that got fixed over the course of the past two weeks, what's being worked on, and what you may expect in terms of experiments and releases. It's also a great opportunity to ask questions or report problems in the comment section. A general note that has been unique to all the tech blogs of 2025 thus far is that there seemingly haven't been that many fixes or announcements. The simple reason for this is because a lot of the engineers have been helping to review and prepare the update of all the wikis on the platform to the MediaWiki 1.43 version. A lot of work goes into that be...
