Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]][[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 06:04, 5 February 2009 (UTC) Reply

Comment Ideally the Tanner scale should show how and when the pubic hair distribution extends onto the inner medial thighs beyond the "triangle". -Stickpen 16:11, 14 October 2009 (UTC) Info This image based in the information and diagrams (you can find it in sources) -- M.Komorniczak 11:22, 15 October 2009 (UTC)<Reply

- Request For a nonspecialist, the nominated image looks pretty much like this one (three first columns), which is the third source given in the image description. In this description, the link points to that simple slide without any mention of copyright, but the full reference quoted as source n°3 is a book, still sold (ISBSN-13: 978-1859962527). One can find its digital version on Google books, till the page "Tanner stages". A problem, perhaps: of course, this rather recent book is a copyright-protected work, with a mention "All rights reserved". So my question is: isn't there any copyrighting issue for the presently nominated derivative work? --Myrabella (talk) 12:22, 19 October 2009 (UTC) Reply
- Info My work is a derivative of many sources. That truth is most similar to that specified by you. But there is also a vector version of this foto: [[1]]. I gave all the sources which are used - I don't hide that. This image is connection of sources and my teoretical knowledge. But i'm not specialist of copyright. --M•Komorniczak -talk- 16:04, 19 October 2009 (UTC) Reply
- Thanks for your transparency. I'm afraid the other source you mention might be copyrighted too. The photo comes from the site uptodateonline.com. If we interpret that restrictively copyright that this image File:RNA splicing diagram en.svg also break the licens (look to sources: [2]). I understand this prohibition (copyright) that I can't put original image/foto to webpage - but if I make fusion of many image, and change information (or draw from foto) that is legal. But I say again I'm not a specialist. I can change image if you think that is needed. --M•Komorniczak -talk- 21:13, 19 October 2009 (UTC) Reply
- About File:RNA splicing diagram en.svg: the source leads up to Wiley copyright, which says: "Nothing on this Web site or in the Wiley publications and material may be downloaded, reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, modified, made available on a network, used to create derivative works, (and so on)"—however, it is not that image reviewed now. The nominated image seems unique for this scope on Commons and very valuable but it is quite similar to the original sources (drawing and photo) and I would like to be sure that there isn't any copyright infringement. --Myrabella (talk) 21:55, 19 October 2009 (UTC) Reply

- Support - Unique picture for the scope on Commons. I was hesitating regarding the copyright, but one might argue that it is inspired by other images but not copied; moreover, most of the layout, including the exact proportional differences of details between the different stages, is predetermined by academic facts (or theories) and thus could be not eligible for copyright (arguments suggested by Martin H., thanks to him). Nevertheless, it is a layperson's opinion, as mine. --Myrabella (talk) 21:56, 21 October 2009 (UTC) Reply

Hello. I'm making one/some images of glomerular pathology using you Renal Corpuscle.svg to start out with. All my changes will be in the public domain. Do you approve if I make the entire image(s) in the public domain or would you like me to point out that your work is Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported? I recognize the benefits of a share alike license, but as a intellectual property abolitionist I do everything public domain.

Hi Michal,
I really like the amazing work you've done on the Tanner scale diagram here - it's absolutely perfect :) I'm currently working on an article on the similar-ish "Prader Scale" - see w:en:User:Alison/Prader scale which is an endocrinological article relating to genital differentiation in utero and genital presentation in newborns. This is of interest to subjects like congenital adrenal hyperplasia, complete androgen insensitivity syndrome, partial androgen insensitivity syndrome and general article on intersex conditions. The article is coming along fine, but it really, really needs an illustration of the seven stages conceived by Dr. Andrea Prader. Would you be willing to provide an illustration to go with this article? I would really really appreciate it if you could! :) Examples here, here and here Thank you *so* much!! - Alison ❤ 00:00, 18 June 2013 (UTC) Reply

Request to correct misclassification of distal straight tubule as distal convoluted tubule in File:Renal corpuscle.svg
[edit ]Hi! Thank you so much for creating File:Renal corpuscle.svg. It was really helpful in helping me understand the renal corpuscle, but my professor at New York Medical College states that the tubule involved in the extraglomerular apparatus is actually distal straight tubule and not distal convoluted tubule (the thick ascending tubule before the DCT). Could you amend this, or help send me a file where I could make the appropriate correction? Yanping Nora Soong (talk) 16:32, 22 September 2023 (UTC) Reply
