My only real issue with the orignial is that "better X for a better world" is such an overused trope. I'm not really sure what to replace it with though.

I think you're right about it being an overused trope.

I keep trying to think of something better and comming up short. Maybe we should start a pad, or use this thread, and just put loads of rough ideas/themes down, see if something emerges.

• Willowbark is used to proporgate plants / encourage growth. It is also similar to aspirin, it reduces pain and fever.

This makes sense, perhaps saying we're a coop is enough and having the values for people if they want to dig in further.

I wonder how we will be empowering people though? I like this but I had a difficult conversation with someone about lots of opensource projects, where they basically said; without the correct skillset many opensource projects are less empowering to use than the usual monopolies.

OK, I did a little bit of brainstorming, and had to cross out half of them as too jokey, but here are some that seemed to head in the right direction:

• Willowbark Co-op is a group of designers and developers who believe that despite it all, maybe some good can still come of computers.

• WBC is a software cooperative that believes we can still have a better Internet, with proper care and feeding.

• Willowbark Co-operative is a group of designers and developers who aim to move deliberately, and nurture things.

• Willowbark is a cooperative of designers and developers who believe that the Internet is real, and can hurt you -- but it doesn't have to.

Yes, these are the less-jokey ones.
