• Fork Basis: This repository is based on v3.5.3, the last known fully open-source version of the application before transitioning to a private model under the japp-io project organization. To develop version v1.1.8 in this repository, the first known open-source version, v1.1, was initially used as a source. Then, to develop version v2.4.8, the last known open-source archived version, v2.4, was initially used as a source. Finally, to develop version v3.5.3.8, the latest known open-source forked version, v3.5.3, was used as the source. After each development, the existing code was preserved when transitioning to the new source code.

Why this fork exists?

The original project appears to have ceased publishing full source code in its new repository by j4zib on Aug 14, 2023. (But documentation only) Libre Equalizer aims to maintain, clean, and modernize the last codebase to keep it free and accessible for the community.

(Flat) Equalizer's License History

The GPLv3 licence has been removed from the Flat Equalizer main repository. You can see that the licence is GPLv3 in its forks and in the softwareheritage archive of its old repository. This can also be confirmed from the japp-io repository.

🚀 Modifications by universish

• Privacy First: All trackers, analytics, and crash reporting libraries have been removed.
• A built‐in diagnostics workflow lets users collect logs, compare raw vs sanitized versions, and send a sanitized report via email without any network code.
• Ad-Free: Google AdMob code and dependencies have been completely stripped out.
• Debloated: Removed In-App Billing (IAB) libraries and internet permissions.
• Rebranded: Package name updated to com.libre_universish.equalizer.
