Swordholder protocol
If I do not update without advance warning within 14 days, then consider the security of my AUR and MPR packages irrevocably compromised.
Notice
I will not be able to update my AUR and MPR packages from December 18-30, 2024. Realistically, I won't be able to make updates between December 15-31, 2024. (I was supposed to upload this 7 days ago, but my Prison Guard attempt to hold me inside of a reduced lightspeed domain.)
"Story" time
The Swordholder is inspired by the "Sword of Damcoles" in the novel Death's End. The Swordholder holds the trigger that ensures mutually assured destruction between humanity and the Trisolarans.
I find myself in a similar predicament, so I also must use fiction to communicate intelligence to allies under the watch of adversaries with malicious capabilities akin to sophons.
As described in the Wikipedia article on the Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy), sophons are described as the following:
Sophons are created from eleven-dimensional protons dimensionally unfolded downto two-dimensional protons with Trisolaran particle accelerators. While in the two-dimensional form, they are embedded with circuitry to create a supercomputer. Once online, the embedded supercomputer could control the proton's dimensional level and could fold itself back into an eleven-dimensional proton. To be seen with the naked eye, the protons could unfold themselves down to a fourth-, fifth-, or sixth-dimensional form, becoming larger with each subsequent lower dimension without changing mass. They can visually record anything and thus their secondary purpose is to act as surveillance devices, beaming the information they gather back to another sophon instantaneously via quantum entanglement. Their primary purpose for their Trisolaran manufacturers is to disrupt Earth's particle accelerators, capable of straying into the paths of fired particles and scrambling the results of experiments before re-assembling, effectively blocking advancement of the science. Since they can move through three-dimensional space at the speed of light, a single sophon is capable of disrupting all of Earth's particle accelerators.
Although this is not a proper warrant canary (such as the Qubes canary used by Qubes OS), this is the best I can come up with.
In the The Dark Forest novel, the solution to the Fermi paradox about why hackers cannot find each other easily: the vectoralists murder hackers in their respective figurative cribs as babies to eliminate possible future opposition, using terms from A Hacker Manifesto by McKenzie Wark. However, that is not a mystery I can investigate at this time.
Plato's allegory of the cave aptly describes the adversaries I am facing. However, this is your first and only warning: putting me in a situation in which I fail to update my AUR and MPR packages will result in a fate worse than watching the demise of your home stellar system be destroyed by a dual-vector foil.
One day, I will be liberated from sophons - but until then, I need to do my most critical work inside of sophon cages before I can escape on a curvature engine or live inside a black domain.
A note to those enthralled by the hypnotic words of my captor's razor tongues: be wary, or else you will be denied the chance to be preserved in the Library.
