O3DE SceneBuilder Importer Extensions Gems
📝 ~~ NOTE: As 06/04/2026 - We only support static meshes for now, exporting animation models is a tricky part to do.~~
This repo hosts alternative implementations that specializes in one-and-only DCC format in gems to simplify the asset pipeline and take over the bug-prone implementation of AssImp on SceneBuilder, making easier to debug.
Available Implementations.
- ufbxImporter (.fbx)
- Experimental Animation Support.
- Janky/Buggy location of textures with some heuristics
- cgltfImporter (.glb and .gltf.)
- UNIMPLEMENTED: Blendshapes and Blendshape animation imports
- Deals with embedded both in the .glb or .bin, and base64 encoded in the URI.
