Legal Documents for Codeberg

This repository contains the legal documents for the Codeberg e.V. (German association). The legally binding documents are at the root of this repo in their original language. These are:

  • Imprint.md (En): Legally required information about the platform operator (Codeberg)
  • PrivacyPolicy.md (En): As title - the privacy policy.
  • Satzung.md (De): The bylaws text. There is an unofficial English translation available.
  • TermsOfUse.md (En): The terms of use for the platform. To suggest changes to the terms of use, please create a PR targeting the tos-next branch so we can release multiple changes at once.

The translations go into their corresponding folder. Please note: The translations are unofficial and there is no guarantee for correctness and actuality.

Changes to legally binding documents

As stipulated by our Bylaws (German version), members of Codeberg e. V. have the right to submit requests to:

Pull Requests made to this repository are usually the basis for proposals to the general assembly, which must be submitted to the Presidium by a Codeberg e. V. member.

Although there is no strictly defined procedure, we recommend the following:

  • State what you wish for Codeberg to change, and why.

That way, other members will be able to evaluate your proposal based on the proposal's merits and the intention behind it, rather than the precise wording or implementation.

Helping others understand can, in turn, help you get constructive feedback.

  • Ask others for help.

By asking for other peoples' opinions and perspectives, you might have an easier time with reaching a consensus and make improvements based on perspectives that you might not have considered yet.

You can mark changes as WIP ("work-in-progress") and ask others for assistance in Codeberg-e.V./Discussion (internal).
