I haven't tried Codeberg much. I just cloned this repo and ran git fetch in it a couple times, so far so reliable.

I wasn't clear: I meant the PIN rather than the SSH key itself.

Haha, terrible idea: appearantly Gnome supports .svg desktop backgrounds, so we could put the text to use for the background in Nix and generate the SVG around it.
After using it for a bit, I find it a bit cumbersome to enter my pin on every interaction. On my private laptop I'd rather have the pin saved in the keyring and supplied automatically. I bet...
That nix flatpack project I thought was more interesting for any flatpacks we might want pre-installed by default. I wouldn't recommend Nix to anyone that doesn't have some programming experience...

As I mentioned today in person: for SSH keys I can recommend setting up a yubikey or similar. I looked it up, and this describes the step I used to set up my yubikeys (I have a backup):
