Packard Bell Restore CD Patcher
This script will patch a Packard Bell restore CD image to work on any computer.
Currently:
- It patches the CD-ROM drive check out of the DOS boot disk.
- It patches the BIOS check out of the restore program.
Requirements
This was tested against the Packard Ball 3.9 restore CD at WinWorldPC: https://winworldpc.com/product/packard-bell-navigator/39 Others may also work.
Also requires the OAKCDROM.SYS CD-ROM driver from any Windows 9x CD boot disk.
Notes
- In VirtualBox, the system seems to freeze when the mouse is moved due to an IRQ conflict. It may be necessary to manually remove the mouse driver, using the keyboard to navigate. If you click into the window during this process, it will freeze!
