The Forgejo initiative has publicly declared that it develops a software forge with a focus on privacy, among other features.

Under this premise I propose to add Privacy as a core value of the initiative:

All Forgejo developments will be made considering data protection by default and by design for all its users, understanding Privacy as a condition of human autonomy and self-governance.

Please feel free to comment, improve, suggest, object or approve this proposal taking into account your own concerns or level of agreement.

Just to ensure that we are on the same page: Privacy in the EU sense?

The major difference to the US view on it is that data belongs to an individuum instead of an organisation.

At first, I try propose something not aligned with any kind of colonialism.

My view is more in line with the UN report on digital privacy.

If you want to limit yourself to the EU only, we can listen to other views on this. Do you think the threat posed by ChatControl will be well addressed by EU regulation? I don't think so.

It's not meant to be as linked to colonialism. But those two are the only distinct views I'm aware of.

Thanks for the clarification.

Sorry, it is my learned critical response against solutions based on nationalities or apparent frontiers when HR have no frontiers and no possible limited field of action. Excuse me, it's nothing personal.
