Went looking for some discussions at reddit.com/r/forgejo and found that it was unclaimed. I claimed it with a buddy of mine. I'm happy to turn it over to anyone with the project that has interest in it.

I don't particularly want it but sub-reddits have a way of getting snagged and taken private.

No, HN and Reddit are similar in many ways but the culture and community is pretty radically different. One key difference is that Hacker News does not appear to have any specific "sub-communities" (though I'm not a user of the orange website so please correct me if I'm wrong)

Lemmy is a decentralized alternative to Reddit, which is why I brought it up in the context of this convo
