Question about ansidark and lchansi #192

My understanding is that using -p ansidark16 and -c lchansi produces a traditional color scheme in order (black, red, green, etc) but using the wallpaper colours as best it can. But no matter the wallpaper I'm always getting the same colorscheme and it's not truly representative of the wallpaper colours.
Am I using it wrong? Or do I misunderstand?

Thanks.

The ansi parameters maintains the hue in a range in such that it keeps the traditional colors, which, sometimes, is at the cost of the fidelity of the true colors of the image. In this case. Sometimes the image won't even have that color (color here referred to a pixel with a range of hue of each tradicional color) and, because the ansi palette is already known, we either tweak a color directly or generate one based on other context of the image (like lightning).

Maybe more context is needed, in case colors are missing, to maintain the ilusion that the whole palette is gathered from the picture¿ I can take a look sometime soon.

Thanks for replying.

It’s doing it’s best under the circumstances of the picture it’s dealing with. Good enough for me.
