After the inevitable deprecation aswell the old apk can remain listed somewhere prominent so people can find it for their old a5 stuff.

Accrescent is certainly not dead, I am in their matrix room and the dev last messaged 4 days ago. App submissions are temporarily paused however, but will still open.
@mnalis yes because of the map series: the new maps would be in the old map series, the old app looks there, the new one doesn't
I think it would be worth it to make the final Android 5/6 release some sort of extended support release with occasional updates, it'll keep the app usable for far longer.

Ah, fair. I thought the same about passports, but didn't think about planes properly. Tree is probably best then.
I prefer the passport personally, although a plane would be better.
It has worked. I just deleted them as personally I will not be archiving every map release anyways.
Oh ok. I will delete it, thank you. Probably should be updated to be compatible with the pre map series tho as some may want to archive the old ones.
Interesting, hopefully it can be merged easily. Would probably need some changes tho, eg. from reading the discussion I see they've made it only apply to cars for some reason.

I had already manually updated them, but after deleting the new maps I get the same error
A good idea would be to check for updates when the user initiates the map download. No problem with using internet there, as users already clicked a download button anyways.
