Color schemes. Also a logo candidate.
Once name is confirmed, we can select the color, and then the logo.

Color schemes. Also a suggested logo.
I like the "M" logo here! I suppose it's on purpose but it resembles a road which is great in this context. Whether it'd be chosen or not I think we can play around with this letter-shaped-road concept.
Is it maybe possible to add a figure of a wayfarer in front of this road somehow? In a way that won't overwhelm the icon, obviously.
I think we can play around with colors though. I like the overall green theme, but maybe a lighter shaded one?

https://material-foundation.github.io/material-theme-builder/ is a great resource to generate and experiment with color palettes, especially for modern-looking mobile apps.
There are some nice colors in https://github.com/orgs/organicmaps/discussions/10175
The idea to use a color palette that is close to nature is lovely, but also a strategic important one. It sets the app apart from other generic designer map apps. Also they are just great to look at.
Here is my proposed direction for the base color set. It’s not final, but it lays the groundwork. As design and development progress in parallel, the system will naturally evolve and expand. I see this often in projects and is perfect in this phase of the project.
It looks quite nice, thanks!
The most people seem to prefer natural green colors indeed, though I personally lean more to "humane" skin tones and orange-brownish.
There were some other palettes suggestions at our Zulip chat
I like this one: https://material-foundation.github.io/material-theme-builder/?primary=%23FFDE3F&colorMatch=false
A slightly warmer version of @patrickloonstra palette.

As I said I'm not a big proponent of design by committee.
Brand decisions like typography, color, logo... all come down to a well thought out design strategy that ideally strengthen a bigger idea when coming together. Just letting everybody put out a thing on the table and letting everybody vote seems odd, so here is my proposal:
Why don't we designers vote for people willing to wear the design hat of the project and letting them decide?
CoMaps is about the community making decisions. Any number of people can propose ideas and contribute by improving the ideas or adding new ones. And the community will vote on what they like. This has been working quite well.
Some structure is helpful, so guidelines are here (which the community can also contribute to)

I agree, the community needs to make decisions indeed. We need a decision of who is the project design lead – not popularity contests for color palettes!
If it worked quite well, professionals would do it more often.
I wonder if it makes sense to have a separate "Project Color Voting"?
Should it just go together with the logo voting? Typography also. Makes more sense from a design point of view?
It does. Visual identity is all about the combination of elements. They all have to work together and mutually reinforce each other.
We can also vote for a person or collaborative team to take the responsibility of doing the whole package. And start building that damn app!

+1
And the logo voting itself should be replaced with a person/team voting – so there can be a functioning design workflow, which in the end may give the community great things to vote on.
@mray please feel free to make design suggestions or share designs for colors, logos, and other design elements.
Here is my suggestion.
@eatham @zagura please update your color suggestions in #56 with e.g. 64x64 image with your color 🙏
As for sure many voters will be too lazy to look it up by the hex code :)
(削除) @pastk to make it easier, we may use badges to automatically generate the colors, e.g. (削除ここまで)

Edit: Now, all squares are added and this is obsolete. Thanks.
Personally I like the dark teal color here
#56 (comment)
It looks like the color of water. The app is primarily for land, are there thoughts on this?
The dark teal is very nice indeed.
Though my general preference is with warm colors, e.g. like @skadge proposed in #21 (comment)
Wheat is very nice also!
What is the main OM color? Its quite close to #56 (comment) isn't it?

These are nice colors. Would you like to add them to #56 for voting?

Added OM's color for reference.
#56 (comment)
Adding a few colors together for easier comparison.
Voting completed and 'deep olive green' selected.
Now the work will show how these colors will work in production, but we have something to work with.
How does the wiki works? I love to add these to that in a brand section, but it seems I can not add not edit pages there.
