We don't need whole Chromium src for libffmpeg.so if we build it by make. This build process is used at Arch/vivaldi-ffmpeg-codecs.
[chromium-ffmpeg-codecs] Build by make instead of gn #238
oech3:chromium-ffmpeg-make into master
I'm not sure is people on KaOS use AUR.
But, name of this package is conflicting with https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=chromium-ffmpeg-codecs which builds from ffmpeg.org instead of chromium/third_party/ffmpeg . Tell me if you have any suggestion about name confliction.
KaOS is NOT Arch based.
AUR cannot be used in KaOS, it has it's own, KCP.
But PRs are not for familiarizing yourself with this (independent) distribution, the website has docs and FAQ to explain what it it s and what not.
That another distribution moved to a different way of building a package a week ago, does not mean it is directly better. KaOS will stick with the working way, and will see if in the future another way is proven to be better.
愚問ですが、AURにあるKaOSリポジトリのバイナリを-binとして再パックするのは問題ないでしょうか?AURにあるUbuntu ffmpegのbinを使っている人がいるので。どれくらいのABI互換があるかは分かりません。
(and actually, aim of this PR is stealing optimized bin from somewhere...)
KaOS has zero control of what anyone does at another distro. Do remember though that there are major differences, again, see the FAQ at the home page (especially look at the filesystem setup/no split /usr).
