Ok so I finally managed to set up OpenLDAP and tested everything.

  • Registrating a user: works, user is created in LDAP
  • Logging in: works, with users created both from LDAP and from...

I tried to setup a "simple" LDAP server with write capabilities but it's a real PITA... Which one do you use in production?

If it's configured with both read and write flows yes! It's already possible though, it was just not very clear in my opinion
