What about organizing an event where people translate Codeberg software together.
The idea in a nutshell:
- requirements for projects:
- having localization and using Codeberg Weblate
- Codeberg's Weblate must be in a working state (e.g. not locked / up to date) - but they can also ask for help during the meeting
- the maintainers need to communicate times during which they plan to be available
- projects "register" to take part by contacting us and adding a "translathon" label to their repo topics
- during the day or even the whole weekend, we have a meeting room that allows for translations
- we publish a list of projects and when the maintainers plan to be around
- during this time, users can get in touch with the developers to
- ask questions / clarifications
- discuss deficiencies with the design system (e.g. plural support etc)
- translate the game with other translators
- translators can come and go at any other time, but they might be "alone" with their project
- we could also consider announcing language meetups (e.g. getting feedback from other French translators for a project)
ToDos:
- find a date and time (a weekend? whole day?)
- encourage projects to participate
- announce the event and schedule
- be available and help
- eventually ping the Weblate maintainers to also schedule a "help with Weblate" session?
